Rachel Demers is an artist currently working in the Film industry as an Art Department Assistant with aspirations to become a union scenic painter and sculptor. She specializes in traditional Italian Majolica ceramics, charcoal drawing, and painting.

In her work, Rachel brings two main issues to light: the objectification of the female form within art and the function of religion within society. Her work uses a mix of classical images and modern themes to create complex and emotional pictures. Rachel's work is all about the dramatics of setting the scene and the emotions evoked when you first look at a piece, be they negative or positive feelings. She loves making work that is immersive and overwhelming.

Rachel has spent her four years at UCLA attempting to perfect the art of the human form, working in a variety of mediums from oil paints to sculpture. She wishes for her work and skills to be useful and she enjoys being a part of larger creative projects. She has already worked on a large variety of projects like Lady Gaga's music video John Wane, illustrating the medical textbook "Radiology Simplified", and created a number of logos and icons for companies and groups like the Bruin Democrats.

Rachel Demers is actively seeking opportunities and if you wish to contact her about possible jobs or commisions please contact her at rdemers800@gmail.com
